Objective of the scheme

  • To promote setting up of modern dairy farms for large scale for production of sufficient clean milk to meet the growing needs of the public.
  • To generate self employment and provide necessary infrastructure.
  • For Creation of nucleus herd of high pedigree females for genetic up- gradation of the local cattle by creating bull mother farms for production of high pedigree milch animals like Bull of Murrah, Sahiwal,Tharparkar , Red Sindhi,Gir, Rathi Breeds etc. which shall be further utilized for semen production at semen stations and in the field for natural services .
  • To promote and re-establish the loosing interest of farmers towards cattle rearing and other animal husbandry activities.
  • To adopt scientific rearing and proper feeding by the farmers.

Purpose
 Establishment of dairy units of 5, 10, 15 and 20 animals.

Establishment of Dairy Farms under NMPS
Most of the Terms and conditions for  establishment  of Dairy units are same as for Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS), except under NMPS  larger units of 5,10.15 & 20 animals will be established and maximum subsidy shall not exceed Rs 10000/- per animal. Individuals desirous of establishing new dairy unit or augmenting their existing unit size to larger unit size of 5, 10.15 & 20 animals will get the project report for desired unit size, however, the credit and subsidy will be restricted to expenditure on acquisition of new infrastructure/ new (additional) animals only.   

Linkage with credit
The scheme is purely linked with credit.

Eligible Financial Institutions:

  • Commercial Banks,
  • Regional Rural Banks
  • State Cooperative Banks
  • State cooperative Agriculture &
  • Rural Development Banks.

Eligibility

  • Individual Entrepreneur/Farmer, male or female, educated/uneducated who is unemployed, is eligible to avail the benefit of the scheme.
  • Retired government/semi government employees are not eligible.
  • The age of applicant should be 18 years to 50 years.
  • Any individual who has availed loan under Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS) or any other similar schemes will not be eligible to avail the benefit of the scheme.

Capital Subsidy
Capital Subsidy @ 25% of cost of animal subject to a maximum of Rs. 10000/- per animal. Subsidy shall be back ended in nature.
